Carla woke up Allen around 3:45 AM on Thursday, September 9th, and was talking but not making any sense. Allen woke Matt and Kelley (their son and daughter-in-law who are currently staying with them) up around 4:00 AM. After talking with her for a few minutes they determined they needed to call 911. With all the diversions in place due to COVID, she was taken by ambulance to Grady Hospital. When she arrived the CT scan showed severe bleeding on the left side of her brain and definitely a stroke. Grady has one of the best units for stroke, so we are thankful this is where they were able to bring her.
