Who knew that my life could upended like it was recently in early May? I had enjoyed very good health and of course expected that to continue. Then came a series of health concerns; deep vein thrombosis and and aphasia stroke in late April and early May. I was admitted to an ICU at a nearby hospital and four specialists worked with me until a proper diagnosis was found.  It turned out that I have Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer stage 4.  Completely unaware that this cancer had been growing in my body, I found accepting this very difficult.  In short order I was started on a very intense regimen of chemotherapy. It occurs every 14 days with barely enough time rest between cycles. I have completed 3 cycles; which fortunately have been tolerated well. My husband and our 5 children (ages 27-39) have been readily available, taking turns to come see us. This has been so very comforting, as well being with the grandchildren. The plan is to continued moving through these cycles, depending on how well I tolerate this.  I couldn’t have more support!
