Cara Newell

Cara has a cancerous tumor where her esophagus meets her stomach. Unfortunately, she is bed ridden. She has not been able to eat or drink much at all. Her desire is to remain at home. She is very weak and needs help. 

Cara is so kind, generous and caring. She has been dedicated to her career as an executive assistant. Now, she needs our support to help her move through this phase.

We have a few volunteers who have been stopping by to help her out. But she needs a dedicated caregiver to help her at home. She is hoping to pay someone to be with her for a couple of hours a day. This amount may need to increase if she continues to decline. 

It's hard for her to get up, let alone stand up long enough to prepare food and get hydrating drinks. She has to eat and drink in such small amounts that it is an ongoing effort to nourish her body. 

She is going to hire someone to help with daily tasks. She is hoping to hire a dedicated person so she doesn't have to train multiple people on what she requires for care. It is hard for her to even talk at this point. 

She is opting out of chemo and radiation  which would have been a required for surgery. At this point, she is hoping to stay at home to either heal or transition.


She is getting a feeding tube on Monday. Cara will need help with preparing the food and cleaning the tube.
