Bob Lowry Captain Bob's Marathon

Bob Lowry is 75 years old, but he doesn't look like it, and he doesn't act like it because Bob Lowry is known for his life of activity.  Bob is a retired Marathon Runner, finishing twelve Dallas White Rock Marathons; he's a life long cyclist, finishing the "Hotter than Hell" 100 mile race in Wichita Falls, Texas twice, and just this year, finished a 100 mile bike ride in Lexington, Michigan.  Bob walks two miles each morning with his wife Geri in their neighborhood home in Granbury, Texas.    "You gotta keep moving!"  They tell their friends.


For 25+ years, Bob has been "Captain Bob" , sailing his own boat with his first mate Geri from island to island and even across the Gulf stream from Florida to Bimini.   Captain Bob Lowry is the picture of good health, and everyone who knows Bob recognizes  his love of living on a lake, sailboats, and his love of adventure.


His favorite saying, "The Adventure Continues..." sums up his plan to win this race with cancer.   He is looking at the upcoming surgery and the "cure period" just like one of his marathons, and will attack it "one mile at a time" until he crosses the finish line, 26.3 miles later.  Three weeks following his surgery on October 27th, Bob will walk a half mile, (or more!) down the street again. He has taught his daughters Kelly and Kristen to run just like he has, "running  mailbox to mailbox" until you are there!
