Canaan Backstrom

Canaan was born February 3, 2016. We found out halfway through pregnancy that he would be born with a congenital heart defect called Tranposition of the Greater Arteries. He also had a cleft lip and palate. He was born in Sioux Falls and air transported 4 days later to Ann Arbor for open heart surgery and recovery.
