Life quickly changed on March 8th with the simple words of "we need to do a biopsy" at my mammogram. I have been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. This form of cancer does not respond to the usual hormonal treatments used for a large portion of breast cancers. After meeting with my surgeon and oncologist we have a treatment plan. I will be undergoing chemotherapy for 12 weeks then a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction. This has been an overwhelming shock for our family but we are now ready to fight the battle and win! We thank everyone for their love, support and prayers. God has a plan for us, even in the darkest of days. And ladies please get your mammograms--it might save your life!
