First post: Jun 2, 2021 Latest post: Jul 14, 2021
Welcome to Carol Friedell's CaringBridge website. We will be using this site to keep her family and friends updated during her treatment of Multiple Myeloma.

Carol was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on November 26th 2020. She began cancer treatment and chemotherapy at the beginning of January 2021. For the last six months she has been under the care of Minnesota oncology where they began treatment to prepare her for a Stem Cell transplant. There are many steps involved in the treatment of this particular cancer and more information can be found at https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/multiple-myeloma/symptoms-causes/syc-20353378.

As of June 1st Carol will be under the care of an exceptional team at the Mayo Clinic as she enters step three of treatment. This involves a Stem Cell Transplant and rigorous courses of Chemotherapy,  Immune therapy and Regenerative therapy. Needless to say,  the next couple months will be the most difficult both physically and emotionally. Carol is entering this stage with her usual tenacious and feisty spirit accompanied by a sense of humor she brings into her appointments.

With deep gratitude we thank you for your love, support and space while she undergoes treatment and recovery. Carol, myself (Sarah, Step-daughter) and Liz Rees (family friend) will be updating this regularly. Thank you again for all of your well wishes. We have nicknamed her Momma Gladiator, and that she is💜
