Butch Kuronen James "Butch" Kuronen

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  We will provide updates as they become available.  We encourage people to use this site to share stories about Butch.  His girls especially are enjoying the stories of his coaching days.  


Butch together with his wife of 20 years, Amy, have been raising their two amazing daughters in Duluth, MN.  As much as he is coach, mentor, friend,neighbor,  co-worker, and all around good guy anyone who knows him knows that his deep and unconditional love of his family defines him.  


On Oct. 9, 2018 Butch underwent a procedure (TIPS)  to alleviate his portal hypertension which had been causing him trouble for some time.  The procedure did not go as planned.  Butch suffered cardiac arrest during the procedure.  CPR was preformed for about 15 minutes.  His heart did start beating again on it's own, but the loss of blood flow to the brain has caused traumatic injury from which it is unlikely that he will recover.
