Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Everett had been feeling sick for many weeks through out the beginning of 2021. After many doctors visits and much care, he had been admitted to the hospital for further tests and support. After further testing, scans(showing a mass on left adrenal gland/kidney and metastatic lesions along his spine), and biopsy surgery to test bone marrow&to test the mass, Everett was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma cancer come the end of March.

Everett has a treatment journey of three different phases. Forecasted to be over 15 to 18 months, more or less depending on how Everett's body responds:
Phase 1--Cycle 1&2 of chemotherapy at Prisma(Palmetto Health) Children's Hospital in Columbia, SC
--MIBG therapy at Children's Hospital of Atlanta in Atlanta, GA
--Cycle 3&4 of chemotherapy at Prisma (Palmetto Health) Children's Hospital in Columbia, SC
-- Surgery to remove tumor(prior wrapped around blood vessel, hopefully not around blood vessel and easy retrieval come time for surgery)(Prisma in Columbia)
--5th cycle of chemotherapy (Prisma I'm Columbia)
--Tests and scans to determine treatment progression.

Phase 2--First 4 to 6 weeks of intense chemo paired with stem cell transplant(reinfusion of his own stem cells, harvested after cycle 2 of chemo in first phase) at MUSC Children's Hospital in Charleston, SC

--Maybe a 2 to 4 week break at home or in Charleston, depending on if they want us nearby them
--Second 4 to 6 weeks of intense chemo paired with stem cell transplant (reinfusion of his own stem cells) at MUSC Children's hospital
---Radiation at Prisma Children's Hospital in Columbia

Phase 3--Immunotherapy at Prisma Children's hospital in Columbia

They ask for prayer and appreciate your support.

Please pray for Everett, Heidi and Greg. They trust God to be with them through this difficult time.  They appreciate the love and support of their family and friends, as well as their greater extended family in Christ. We ask God for rest, comfort, provision, healing, hope, reassurance, wisdom, peace, and moments of joy.

Everett continues to be an old soul, charming his medical team, thoughtfully exploring his world, caring about others, and expressing the playful joy of life that five year old boys have, even in the midst of illness and pain.
