Welcome to Bud's rally page! It has been so wonderful to have all of you reaching out to check on him, encourage him and care about him as he goes through his recovery from his health issues. He loves all of you and we both have been so appreciative of your phone calls, cards, and visits. A million thanks!
We want to talk to all of you, but he has so many loving family members and friends that we’ve struggled to keep all of you updated. With this site, I’ll now be able to write updates, and you’ll be able to send him your messages of love and support, which I will read to him regularly. Feel free to check back here to see how he’s doing or to leave him your good wishes.
Today (Thursday, Feb. 1) he is being moved to the Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation offered by Dignity Health's Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He’s been approved for a stay of up to three weeks, and will have daily Physical Therapy for several hours, which should help him regain some mobility and strength. He’s still using a feeding tube, although the hours of use have been cut down. His immediate goals are:
a) Eat! Regain interest/ability to eat to gain weight back
b) Improve his strength and mobility
c) Win his Super Bowl bets!!
I’m not sure exactly what time he’ll be moved today, but once the move is done and we’ve settled into the new routines, I’ll update this page. Sending our love and thanks to all of you. Go BudZ!!
