Thank you for visiting Brynn's site.  We hope this can serve as a portal to share with Brynn the good wishes and prayer that we know so many people have for her.  Her illness has been very isolating and difficult for all of us to see her lose touch with many of the friends and family that surround her in their hearts and minds every day.  We also know that we've kept this journey largely private and many we love and rely on have felt in the dark.  We hope this shines a light between all of us.

After a very difficult fall of confusing challenges Brynn was experiencing physically and mentally, several doctor visits, a couple of ER trips and ambulance rides she was diagnosed with a rare and often misunderstood autoimmune disease in November.  A disease resulting from a form of the Strep virus.

By the grace of God we found ourselves at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital during the week of Thanksgiving.  The medical team here is one of the few in the country specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of this  particular disease and associated issues.  We continue to hold onto their brilliance and compassion to guide this journey.  As of Sunday 1/12 we are now admitted for our 3rd stay since November.  We will look forward to discussing our next stage of treatment with the medical team on Monday (1/13).  We will share updates as Brynn would like.  However, this journey has been a very personal one for Brynn and we will at all times respect her desire for privacy as much as possible.

The unfortunate target of Brynn's disease is the brain and neurological system.  This has left Brynn unable to attend school since October as she continues to fight a very exhausting series of challenges nearly every day.  A special thanks to the staff at Davinci Academy for continuing to support Brynn's needs and eventual return to everyday life at school.

She has received a number of targeted treatments, many quite unpleasant but necessary.  She has been brave beyond words.  As she continues to receive treatment the long term prognosis is positive.  The Doctors have reassured Brynn and her family that she WILL be healthy  We just don't know exactly when.

Special prayers of thanks and continued strength for her twin sister Olivia as she continues to be the rock beside her and this entire family.  We love you Olivia.

Thank you all for sharing your positive, uplifting and loving thoughts and prayers here.  We will read them to Brynn as much as we are able.

All our love,
Shane, Debbie, Brynn & Olivia
