Bryce Moore Prayers for Bryce

First post: Apr 16, 2016 Latest post: Apr 21, 2016
Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated on Bryce. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement and prayers during this time when it matters most.
We truly appreciate your continued prayers.

To get you up to speed, Bryce began with signs of being sick on April 1st.  By that Sunday, April 2nd, he was running fever. I took him to his pediatrician on Monday, April 3rd & he tested positive for strep, negative for flu.  To make a long story short, April 4th his fever hit 104 & breathing was very labored so to the ER we went and they said it was due to his high fever that he was having labored breathing & tested positive for strep, neg for flu again.  Us moms have that motherly instinct where we trust the doctor but sometimes we know something else is going on. He continued running fevers 102+.   On Thursday night Me & Bobby ran to see Connor play baseball & I returned home with Bryce on the couch with 105 fever!  I freaked out, put him in the tub & called the on call nurse, his fever came down.  Let's jump ahead 1 day & we saw our pediatrician the next day, he tested negative for flu (he had every sign of the flu!), our pediatrician immediately said I bet it's pneumonia so she sent us to have X-rays & blood work.  2 hours later got a call that it was PNEUMONIA! & not just a small case but multi lobe! He had pneumonia in his right middle & lower lobe & his left middle lobe.  So we headed to OLOL Children's where 8 days later we are still here.  We did get discharged on day 5 but got readmitted on day 6.  He's had a roller coaster ride of temps/fevers.  As of today, April 16th, he's been fever free for 2 days.  He's been on IV antibiotics, fluids (off fluids with IV for 3 days now).  Doctors are not completely sure if it's bacterial pneumonia, it could be viral (with viral only time heals).  There's is no way to diagnose viral for sure so we complete his antibiotics before they'll say for sure if it's viral.

From here on I will update each day how Bryce is doing! We appreciate all the love, support, prayers & so appreciative to our family for help with Connor!
Please pray for our boys lungs to strengthen & heal.  This pneumonia is such a roller coaster ride but we know God is ultimately in control!  God Bless you all!

With Love,
the Moore Family
