Welcome to our CaringBridge website.    We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Bruce (my dad) has a brain injury, from a fall in our driveway on Tuesday, August 9th, 2022.  Early in the evening on Tuesday night (Aug 9th), dad fell in our driveway, and hit his head.  Around 1am Wednesday (Aug 10), I heard him fall out of his computer chair to the floor. He was unconscious, but breathing—he was asleep and snoring, but we couldn’t wake him up.  We called 911, and then he was transferred to Regions about 2am. They found a surface bleed on his brain, so he had emergency surgery at about 4:30am Wednesday (August 10).  After surgery, his neuro surgeon told mom and I they had to go in and relieve the pressure on his skull on the left and right sides at the top of his head.   Things are moving along nicely, and we are hopeful for a full recovery.  We know there is still a long way to go in this journey.

We welcome phone calls, texts, emails, Facebook messages, and appreciate everyone's support.  I'll try to post when I can here so people can check-in, without feeling like they are bothering us.

With gratitude.
