Brooke Derado

God doesn't make mistakes. He is in control. His love will carry us along the road we are traveling.

Many of you know Brooke has been sick for a couple months. Her first appointment started on 12-14-16, with our first diagnosis of "sinusitis", then 1 week later "pneumonia", then "virus"...after 2 pediatricians, 1 ENT, and 1 pathologist (performed lymph node biopsy) we were told multiple times she had a virus attacking her body which caused swollen lymph nodes, tonsils, swelling in her face, & difficulty breathing. We had 3 awful episodes and all 3 treated with high doses of steroids to return her to "almost normal"....after the 3rd episode I got a second opinion (that was on Thursday). She said something big is being missed and this is most likely not a virus. She ordered outpatient labs and a chest x-ray. Friday morning I went to Riley and discovered she had a "fist" size mass in her chest pressing on her trachea and superior vena cava. The radiologist was immediately called and Brooke was transferred to Peyton Manning (in-network), for a CT scan and additional labs. We were greeted at the ER door by the oncologist. He feels 90-95% sure he knows what's going on.

We are asking for all the prayers we can get. The last 48hrs have been incredibly hard and it's only going to get harder. She just turned 5 years old...how is this possible? 

Brooke is scared and it's so hard to see her screaming & she repeatedly says, "I just want to be home." Please pray for strength for everyone and wisdom for all the doctors/nurses/staff.

We are incredibly thankful for all of the people supporting us! I just cry at the thought of everyone's generosity. Thanking God for Matt being at my side. God made no mistake is making us Brooke's parents. We are going to fight whatever comes our way with everything we have!
