Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. Broden was in a car accident on the evening of November 28th on his way to see friends. His car appeared to have rolled 200 ft. from the highway and Broden was found 20 feet from his vehicle. He was airlifted to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo. Broden suffered severe brain trauma with multiple contusions and bleeding sites on the brain, along with diffuse axonal injury, an open tibia and fibula fracture, broken rib, and damaged spleen. He had surgery right away to repair his badly broken leg, and was in the intensive care unit under the watchful eye of the neuro-critical care doctor. He was not responding well to any stimuli including pain. Father Anderel came to the hospital and did an anointing of the sick on Broden and also celebrated a healing mass at St. Boniface on the Wednesday following the accident. That night Broden spoke his first clear sentence. Thank you Lord! Broden was then moved to intermediate care, then the neuro unit and last Thursday was moved to Sanford rehab. This was all a blur. Broden is our 2nd child of 10 and quite the patriarch of our family. He is always there to help his family, friends, and community. Broden is a sophomore at NDSU and was living with his friends in a house near campus. Broden has a long way to go, but he has so many people praying for him and sending him their love and support. This makes a tremendous amount of difference in the healing process. I am humbled and so very grateful for everyone who has given us any kind of support during this time. I will forever treasure the kindness and generosity you all have shown.
