On Monday, March 21st, 2022 I went into Urgent Care after work after struggling for a month with a pretty bad cough and even more trouble breathing than I had previously had. After a chest X-ray that showed a large mass on the upper right side of my chest. I was sent to the ER for a CT scan. After waiting a few hours for a test I was admitted to United Hospital and scheduled for further tests.

On Tuesday I had an ultrasound biopsy in my neck. I received the results on Wednesday afternoon: Stage 4 Hodgkin Lymphoma. It is a type of cancer that is very common among young adults, particularly women, and the elderly. It is also very cureable despite the "Stage 4" status.

There are still so many unanswered questions but right now it looks like I will be treated through 6 cycles of chemotherapy over the next 6 months. My care team is wanting to get started ASAP so session one of the first cycles could begin as early as this Friday.

I have been touched by the overwhelming outreach of support from my friends and family and wanted to make the sharing of information a little easier. Please follow and watch for periodic updates. Please also feel free to reach out to me. If I don't respond right away I will get back to you as soon as I can. Hearing from everyone over the last few days has given me a boost to not get frustrated and angry. Please continue to do so!

I'm in for a long few months here but I am very excited to beat this and get back to singing, spending time with dance studios, video production and being with friends and family.
