Friends & Family,
As many of you know, over the last 4 years Brisa has struggled with continued challenges with her auto-immune disorders. During that time Rick & Brisa have sought the Lord to provide healing and wisdom with doctors advice and treatments. They continue to trust His plan for their life, even as she continues to experience symptoms with little improvement.
After a recent week long hospital stay, Brisa’s condition has worsened and she has been accepted to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She has an appointment August 23rd and is currently planning and organizing the details of that trip for her and Rick.
Many of you have supported Rick & Brisa in countless ways over the past few years through prayer, meals, encouraging cards and messages, financial support, carpools, playdates, and more. The body of Christ is a beautiful picture of how we carry and support each other through hardship. As the days pass and the needs continue, it can be very difficult to keep everyone up to date on the details of Brisa’s health, and the needs that can change on a daily basis for their family.
In response to that, we have put together a site for Rick and Brisa on Caring Bridge so that they can easily share their journey and needs as they arise. We would love for you to connect with them through Caring Bridge to stay updated and walk alongside them through the joys and hardships of this journey.
In addition, we have set up a GoFundMe page to address the most immediate need they have, which is the financial responsibility for the Mayo Clinic appointment. The initial appointment will be 5-7 days of hospital stay, plus follow-up trips there and travel and lodging expenses for Rick, as he joins her. They would also love your prayers to cover their trip, her appointment, and all the boys, especially since Brisa’s trip will be during the first week of school.
