Meet Bridget, loving wife to my dad, BJ Wallace, and wonderful mom to yours truly (me-Megan) and my brother Bryce Wallace. My mom is the true definition of southern charm. From her amazing cooking to her overly generous caring heart. She has always lived her life giving to her loved ones or anyone else for that matter. Always putting others before herself, the shirt off her back is yours if you needed it. My mom made our family her life, and she has always been our number one fan. She is the type of woman that would move mountains just to make sure we were happy. She is the epitome of what of what kind of mother/wife/friend/strong woman I want to be. The kind of woman that when she walked in the room, it was with a bubbly smile and nurturing grace.

They always say bad stuff happens to good people. It couldn't have been proven more right when we got the news about my mom that tore our families world apart.

On October 3rd my mom (and most favorite person in the entire world) was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer. I agree with everyone that cancer sucks, but it never hit home for me until cancer made its face in my beautiful mother. Initially it was a shock. Its scary and its sad. But doing what I know my mom would of done if it was either one of us in her shoes, my family and I bucked up and started making things happen. We were going to fight this.

It was quite the process but after numerous phones calls, help from generous strangers, and making the right contacts; my family and I finally got mom into MD Anderson in Houston. Ranked #1 cancer center in the world it truly was blessing to be able to get in to a place like this. But, its my mom and my mom deserves nothing but the best, so through hell and high water, here we are.

So this is where her fight against cancer story starts. You have been invited to follow along and show support, because although my mom absolutely hates being the center of attention, this gives people the opportunity to show her the love and support that she so generously always gave to others.

Follow along in the journal section of the page for updates on how Bridget is doing and feel free to leave questions of comments below.
