Many of you know and have been praying for our daughter Bridget. Bridget was diagnosed with Cleo blastoma cancer about seven years ago. She had a tumor removed in 2015, and again in 2017. The last four years have been pretty easy with no signs of recurrent tumors. However in May, Bridget once again underwent surgery for the removal of a tumor. She subsequently Had a stroke which affected her left side.

She started physical therapy and occupational therapy to strengthen her left arm and her left leg And was making great strides.

In July another MRI was done to compare with the May MRI taken right after her surgery so the medical team could establish a new baseline.
Unfortunately the MRI showed a new tumor. Bridget made a decision to go to Houston to MD Anderson for a second opinion. The doctors in Idaho had given her 6 to 12 months to live, and possibly six more months if she underwent radiation.

So we brought Bridget to Houston and took her to MD Anderson. A second MRI was done, and the results were devastating. The small tumor had turned into a large tumor and was surrounded by fluid. This fluid containing cancer cells has now spread throughout her body. We are hopeful that we will have another two or three days with her.

Our family is devastated, distraught, and tired. We greatly appreciate all the prayers, the phone calls, and the visits. As of now though we are requesting that anyone wanting to visit please call 713-501-4074 (tel:713-501-4074). We are trying to limit visits to the hours of 12 noon to 3 PM.  Again, we appreciate and covet your prayers. We will try to keep you updated as things progress. Bridget is no longer speaking, and is sleeping most of the time.

If she would like to send a card to her daughter, her brothers, or her parents, you can send those to 7310 Water Glen Ln., Manvel, TX, 77578.

We will post daily updates on this site.

Thank you again,
The family of Bridget Hughes
