Brian was diagnosed with Stage IV Prostate Cancer that has spread to his bones and bladder.  The CT scan says there is extensive lymph node involvement as well but we haven't done surgery to see how many lymph nodes are involved.

This was tough news to take, but our friends and family have rallied around us and because of this, our spirits have been uplifted.  We have much hope that Brian will be with us for a very long time still. 

Brian has a team of doctors from the Huntsman Cancer Institute which is regarded as one of the best hospitals, if not THE best, in the world.  We are also receiving treatment at The Cancer Screening and Treatment Center of Nevada in Reno.  We know we are in good hands.  We will NOT let this beat us. 

There are many options but right now the treatment our doctors have decided to do for Brian is hormone therapy.  This should stop the cancer from growing any further and also shrink it for a period of time.  Some people it works for months, others, years... even decades.  Please pray for Brian's body to respond most successfully to this treatment. 

Our family is very close.  We feel Heavenly Fathers love and comfort at this time.  We also feel the love our family and friends have for Brian and our family at this time as well.  This means so much to us and we appreciate all of your concern, prayers, love, and joy that you bring to us during this time in our lives. 

We will keep you updated via this website whenever there is any new news.  As of now, Brian is in very good spirits and has such a positive attitude of getting through this and back on to better health.

I copied and pasted something Brian's sweet mom wrote in the guestbook.  It is so beautiful and strong.  She has such a strength and knowledge that Brian's body will be healed and wrote it so eloquently, that I wanted to add it to the "My Story" section of this website as well.

Brian, our family, and our friends won't accept ANYTHING but complete and total healing!
