Welcome to our CaringBridge website. As you may know January 23, 2017, Brian went to the ER at Northwestern thinking he had a severe flu. After 6 days of CT scans, MRI's, bone scan, and countless other tests was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Melanoma. It has now spread to his lymph nodes, right lung, GI lining, large mass around his L2 vertibre, severely deteriorated right 4th rib, and continues to aggressively spread. Since the day he was diagnosed, we have contacted so many of the local hospitals, each time telling us that without insurance there was nothing they would be able to do. As you can imagine, the frustration set in, and as a family we have done everything we can to try to get Brian treatment. Thankfully he was able to get insurance March 1st, 2017 and able to start the latest and promising immunotherapy/chemo. (Opdivo and Yervoy)
