Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support prayers, words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. Monday, Oct. 1st, Brian did what he always does, went to the gym on his lunch hour to workout/train. Currently, he's training for an upcoming IronMan Race in Downtown Sacramento. Shortly after heading out on a run, the gym employees saw that he unusually returned after 10 minutes. Shortly after that, he was found in the bathroom collapsed having a massive heart attack. Rushed by ambulance to Mercy General with CPR in progress, where upon arrival, he was taken immediately to the cath lab to have 4 stents placed. They induced a coma immediately to begin resting his body, which included sedation, hypothermia, and medicated paralysis for complete rest and recovery. We all know Brian's health condition is top notch and that is serving him well; however, the biggest mystery is the time he lacked oxygen to his brain. After 48 hours, they will begin weaning off the coma to allow him to wake on his own.
