Brian Johnson had open heart surgery this afternoon (Tuesday 6/15/200). He is out of surgery and it went very well. He ended up having 3 bypasses with arteries harested from of his inner left thigh and both chest (Mammary) arteries.
This heart condition presented on Saturdy night, with fatigue, and pain in his shoulders and arms. Brian and Sandee went to the emergency room and they kept him there after some testing.
Brian and Sandee now live in Port Townsend, WA, a small retirement and tourist community. He was taken to Port Angeles, an hour away, to a bigger, more modern hositpal with more cardiac care facilities and personel. Brian and Sandee felt very positive about the team doing the surgery.
He was stable on Sunday and Monday and ready for surgery on Tuesday. The surgery took about 4 hours and there were no complications. He is now in the ICU, after that a recovery unit. He will probably stay in the hospital for 4 or 5 days to start his long recovery.
He knows you will be concerned and he appreciates it.
He asked that you rely on THIS site for all info and communicating for the time being. Please do not contact him or Sandee directly.
This site has a place to comment and well wish.
I will update the site whever I hear anything new. For now this is all I know.
Wish Brian well and check the condition of YOUR heart.
