Brian Neisen

Brian was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) almost one year ago, on December 6, 2019. By the grace of God, Brian's determination and medical science, Brian beat ALL this summer and remains CANCER FREE!

The treatment that defeated ALL resulted in the need for a Bone Marrow Transplant. Again, with the grace of God, medical science and also with the selflessness of Brian's brother's donation, Brian received this transplant successfully in early July 2020.

Though the transplant was successful, Brian's health has continued to be a battle. He has had additional radiation, been in and out of clinics and hospitals with infections, received infusions and transfusions. August was a somewhat stable month, but Brian was still feeling ill and uncomfortable, with multiple clinic visits a week to monitor him and balance medications.

In September, he was diagnosed with Graft vs. Host disease (read more about GVHD here: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/10255-graft-vs-host-disease-an-overview-in-bone-marrow-transplant ). This resulted in more clinic visits, high steroid doses, and more antibiotics. Just a week later, he was back in the hospital with an infection. This infection was treated, and Brian went back home, only to be admitted to the hospital again on 10/22/2020.
Updates on Brian's journey since then can be found in the Journal updates.

Please pray for Brian and Denise at every opportunity. They need us, and the comfort that comes with being lifted up in prayer.
