Brian was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2017. Myeloma is a type of blood cancer that specifically targets plasma cells There is currently no cure, only treatments. We recently learned that Brian is in his final chapter, and as a family, the time that the four of us have to remain, together is indeed very precious.
We know that Brian is important to all of you you and we are thankful that our family has been given the gift of time. Considering that our situation could change quickly, we may not be able to respond to individual texts, phone calls, etc. We will be relying on this site as our primary resource for updates. Know that Brian, Karrie, Bode and Madigan will be reading your messages here, please feel free to share your favorite memory/times about Brian. We promise to reach out if there are individual things that you can help with. This news feels surreal for us and we won’t be perfect in how we deal with it.
Finally, several have asked how they can help, and please know that your outpouring of support is deeply appreciated. As much as we love lasagna, our freezer is not that big :) Gift cards to King Soopers, Uber, doordash/ubereats, fast casual restaurants are welcome but not expected. Consider donating blood or platelets....something that Brian has been getting infusions of for the past year. A memorial fund in Brian's name has been created.
