This is a long story with many twists and turns. We are using this site to keep family, friends, and anyone else who wants to follow along updated on our journey.
On Monday, August 30th, 2021 after two days in urgent care, Brian called to tell me the ambulance was on its way to transport him to the hospital.  He had Covid and also contracted pneumonia. The doctors at urgent care had worked for two days to keep his oxygen and blood pressure up but in the end, they just couldn't.  When I got that call, my daughter Kassidi and I rushed to the car and FLEW over there. We arrived just as they were wheeling him from the urgent care building into the ambulance. That was the last time I saw him for more than five weeks. During those dark days, I was told over and over that Brian was the sickest patient in the ICU and that he was not expected to live.   Against all medical odds, by the power of prayer and the grace of God Brian astonished his doctors and nurses by surviving.
At that time, he was the only one to come out of that ICU alive.  Now we are working to put all the pieces of his broken body and our broken life back together and hope that he can return to being the strong husband, dad, and businessman he was before this devastating illness came so close to taking him from our family.
Kennedi, Kassidi, and I are so thankful for all the people who love Brian and continue to walk this difficult road with us.

P.S. My first posts have started to drop off. I think Caringbridge must put a limit on how much space you can take up. This has been going on for so long, it has taken a lot of posts to tell the story.  Just a heads up if you are starting from the beginning.
