Bret started experiencing pain in his lower back several months ago, put attributed it to aging/arthritis. Last Saturday it became unbrearable and he was taken to St Patrick Hospital, where a CT scan and MRI showed a tumor inside the bone if his 4th lumbar vertebrae. A biopsy identified it as an adeno carcinoma, a type of cancer cell than is secondary. The hunt is on to locate the primary tumor. On Tuesday April 3rd, Bret had a full upper body CT scan that did not reveal anything in his major organs (no obvious tumor in liver, kidneys, lungs, pancreas, etc). His lymph nodes are not swollen and his blood work is normal. Next step is a colonoscopy and endoscopy, to get to the inside of his colon and intestines.
