July 12 we got the call that Brett had multiple myeloma. Since then we have been on the path to get into remission as soon as possible! Over the course of the last 5 months Brett has had radiation to help with the shoulder pain and chemo to bring his numbers down to prepare him for a stem cell transplant. The time has finally come that his numbers are down enough to start the stem cell transplant.  Dec. 10th starts a round of shots to prepare him for stem cell collection. Dec. 13 he gets his iv catheter put in. Dec. 14-?  they collect his stem cells. Dec 20 is check into the hospital day and high dose of chemo to kill all remaining bad stuff.  Dec. 21 stem cells will be put back in.

The hospital stay will be 2-3 weeks and will depend on how Brett recovers. There is so much we don't understand but we continue to fight and will fight and learn as the days continue . Please feel free to leave Brett a message and I will update this as often as I can.
