Brent had knee surgery on Friday July 8th and all went well.  He had been getting around well on his crutches and doing his after surgery exercises.  On the afternoon of Thursday July 14th Brent started to feel dizzy
and started to loose his ability to talk.  He was rushed to OSF Saint Francis with a diagnosis of a stroke.  The team of doctors worked fast and gave him the drug TPA to break down the clots in his brain.  The medication was doing its job and Brent started to come around.  At 4:30am July 15th Brent started to lose function of his speech.  He was rushed to get a CT scan to see what was going on.  One of the side effects of the TPA drug is brain bleeds and unfortunately that was what was happening to Brent.  Due to the bleed in the brain he had a set back and was unable to have any blood thinners to break up the other clots. They did a procedure were they inserted a filter to catch any other blood clots and keep them from going to his brain.
