Twelve years ago, Brenda was diagnosed with breast cancer. She fought that cancer aggressively, and after a bilateral mastectomy and chemotherapy, she was cancer-free. Unfortunately, results of a recent annual mammogram indicated reason for concern and a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound followed. Those results indicated a need for biopsies. Biopsy results revealed that Brenda's breast cancer had returned. Brenda will begin this new battle with a consult at Virginia Piper Cancer Institute at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis on Tuesday, July 9th. Surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation will follow, but we have no details as of now.
Additionally, Brenda recently consulted an ENT for a different matter and he ordered an MRI. That MRI revealed a small meningioma on the left frontal lobe. We are told such meningioma's are generally benign. Consultation with a neurosurgeon will come after we address the breast cancer issue.
Brenda and her family believe whole-heartedly in the power of prayers. Brenda is strong and determined, we are praying for a positive outcome! Brenda beat this disease in 2007 and will again in 2019!
