Brandy is pregnant with her first child, a baby girl, and was due to deliver on July 9, 2020.  Unfortunately at 30 weeks 5 days on May 5, 2020 her water broke.  This is called preterm, premature rupture of membranes (PPROM).  While her water broke, she was not having any contractions and was not actually in labor.   The baby can survive with a broken water bag without being born, but mom and baby are at high risk for complications until baby delivers.

She was admitted to the Mother Baby Center in St. Paul connected to United Hospital that evening.  She is currently receiving inpatient treatment and monitoring to keep baby from being born earlier than 34 weeks and drugs to help baby develop faster.  She can go into labor any day or develop complications that require induction/C-section.  She will be induced at 34 weeks if she doesn't deliver before that date.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only Lucas (husband) is allowed to visit Brandy inpatient.  They are taking everyday as it comes and welcome any kind words and support.
