Welcome to Brandon's Site. My name is Brandon and I was involved in a lawn mowing accident on July 11th, 2009. Brandon was 2 1/2 years old when the accident happened. I am now 14 years old with my birthday on December 7th. I have a big sister Alisha and a little sister Ashley. I love Playing with Tractors and trucks, remote control trucks. Loves anything Pokémon & cards and minions. Brandon does not travel without his brown teddy bear(teddy) and his minion blanket. Teddy has been with Brandon through every surgery, dr. visit and we do not leave home without teddy or if you do it is not going to be a good day. Thank you for checking in on Brandon's progress. Brandon's site gets updated everyweek to let everyone know how everything is going for Brandon.
Brandon has had a total of 30 surgeries, 160 hours so far and more surgeries to come and will keep updating every time he has another surgery. There are more surgeries to come throughout Brandon's journey but someday he will get there. Each surgery gets Brandon one step closer of getting better.
This is what is happening with Brandon right now. On Feb 3rd, 2017 Brandon had surgery at children's in Milwaukee and got expanders put in, one in his forehead and one in his hairline to expand the skin to cover his scaring on his left side of his face. So when everything is done it will be smooth on his left side. We have to go down to Milwaukee every week to get more fluid put in his expanders for the next 2 months. After the expanders are full he will have them in for another 4-6 weeks before he can have another surgery to get them out. There will be many trips back and forth to Milwaukee the next 3-4 months with dr. Visits and getting his expanders filled every week to two weeks but after everything is done it will be worth it for Brandon.
We are a family of five. Scott, Brenda, Alisha 14 Brandon 10 and Ashley 7 years old. The doctors told us we have a long haul but we have always told them that he is here with us, and that's all that matters. We will take One Day At A Time, One step at a time. Brandon is a brave little man and pulled through this terrible accident. We are so proud of him.
This is where Brandon started from. On July 11th, 2009. Brandon was seriously injured in a lawn mower accident. Brandon will need ongoing reconstructive head and face surgeries on his left side of his face into his adulthood. Brandon was rushed to Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah, and then flown by Theda Star to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee where he was in the I.C.U. for almost 2 months before he could come home on Sept 2nd, 2009. Brandon lost his left ear, down the road he can get a prostectic ear when he is 6-7 years old. Brandon lost a part of his jaw, where now he has a plate connecting the 2 pieces together until they can do a bone graph, and he has no gumline inside. Brandon lost all his teeth on the bottom left side. The upper teeth are there except for one. Some of Brandon's nerves were cut for the left eye so his eye is just starting to open a little bit. Brandon has a trach and feeding tube right now. Brandon has had 3 surgeries already, 27 hours so far and more surgeries to come in the first week he was at Children's. Brandon has a long road ahead of him and alot of surgeries to go through, but he is a strong little guy. Brandon will have to go back to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee for every doctor visits and surgeries he will need. It is a 2 hour ride from our place to milwaukee. Brandon has the best doctors helping him, In total there are 8 doctors involved with Brandon. Here are his doctors he has Pulmonary, ENT, Reconstructive plastic surgeon, Oro Cranio-Facial Surgeon, Eye Surgeon, Ped Ophthalmology and Family. I always say Brandon has the best of the best doctors.
Thank You to Everyone that was involved that helped Brandon that night of the accident, that he is still here with us. It's a miracle Brandon is still here and we are so greatful for that. Brandon had angels watching him that night and even now. Thank You to everyone for your thoughts, concerns, prayers and support for Brandon. We can't thank everyone enough for everything that was done for Brandon. Brandon has come a long way in a short amount of time. We are saving pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House in Milwaukee, It is one way to help the house out that helped us out while we stayed there until Brandon left the hospital. We can't thank everyone enough for everything they have done for Brandon to get him to where he is today. Brandon is a remarkable little boy that will get him through anything that comes his way. Brandon is a fighter and never gives up no matter what. I know that his wonderful team of doctors ( Sabino, LoGuidice, Hettinger, Hong, Martin, Andrea) will get him there. We said good-bye to Dr. Whitfield, Thank you for all you have done. Look how far he has came already. God bless
