Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Brandon began dealing with some stomach issues around Thanksgiving.  He saw a GI specialist and began going through a number of tests.  On the day after Christmas, on our way to Nashville with dear friends for a family trip, we stopped at Kenestone Hospital for B to have an MRI.  His doctor called us that afternoon and told us that a mass had shown up in the pancreas as well as "innumerable masses" in the liver.  He also said that he was sending it to Dr. Woods at the Cancer Treatment Center and setting up an appointment for us.  Our hearts fell, but we had no definitive news and we did not want to say anything to the kids until we actually knew something.  So we stopped our tears and I know only with God's arms there to hold us up, we had an amazing trip. On Tuesday we gathered at some friends' house with a precious group of prayer warriors and laid our fears in front of the Lord.  Wednesday morning we went to see Dr. Woods and were told that while he needed a biopsy to make a true diagnosis, he felt like he was looking at a malignancy that was not operable due to the fact that it had already moved to the liver.  It was Stage IV.  A biopsy was scheduled for the following day.  Monday night, January 8, we received the news that it is Adenocarcinoma Pancreatic Cancer.  I should feel devastated, but at the risk of sounding like a crazy person, I am not.  I KNOW that God is taking care of us.  The doors that have already opened, the angels that have already been placed in our paths, the peace that HE gives me daily are all confirmation that God's Got This!  He says, "With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation."  Psalm 91:16  We still have a LONG life together.  God has shown me that I cannot just believe that He CAN do miracles...I MUST EXPECT HIM TO DO MIRACLES.
