Brandon was diagnosed with Stage III Hepatoblastoma at 10 months old. After a long journey with chemo and many surgeries later, it was determined he would need a full liver transplant. Brandon received his Gift of Life on Mother's Day 2007 and has been cancer free ever since and doing wonderful! Everyday is a blessing!! :)

Brandon was born February 20th along with his beautiful twin brother Aiden. They were born at 31 weeks after surviving Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome. They both spent 57 days in the NICU and we brought home 2 beautiful and healthy (so we thought) baby boys that filled my heart with so much love!

During an abdmonal scan, a tumor was found in Brandon's liver just 4 days before Christmas. We went for a consult at Medical City, and ended up being admitted and leaving 12 days later, spending Christmas in the hospital. Our world was turned upside down in a matter of hours.

Brandon has had 7 rounds of chemo and multiple surgeries, including an attempted liver resection. During the surgery it was determined his tumor was too vascular and going forth with the surgery would be risky and/or result in not obtaining clear tumor margins and leaving some of the cancer behind. He would need a full liver transplant.

After waiting a short 37 days (short for transplant world!) Brandon received the call on Mother's Day that a perfect match had been found. We were care-flighted to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston where he received his Gift of Life and was released from the hospital 8 days later!

We stayed in the Houston area for a couple weeks for observation and we were released back to Dallas. We are forever grateful to Brandon's amazing donor family and to our Oncologists at Medical City Dallas and the wonderful Transplant Team at Texas Children's for giving Brandon a second chance at life. :)
