Brandi Gloeckner

Brandi is 10 years old and is a very intelligent and beautiful young lady. The youngest of four children, she enjoys; basketball, soccer, boating, playing Mine Craft and watching You Tube videos and hanging out with her friends. She has two older brothers, Brandon (17 yrs. old) and Bronson (16 yrs. old) and one older sister, Bryna (13 yrs. old).

Being the youngest, she is feisty and has learned not to take crap from anybody! She also wanted to make sure we included her list of pets; Chrissy, a six year old Shih Tzu, Chip the hamster and a betta fish named King Konfetti, as part of the family. She also has a Venus flytrap that she named Vinnie, we aren't sure that qualifies as a family member, but there it is. She has plans to be a Veterinarian in the future.  Brandi's parents are Cindy and Bryan and their ages are not available:)

Brandi was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (Bone Cancer) on July 1st and began Chemotherapy on July 7th. The tumor is located on her left fibula (the little bone in her leg) right below the knee joint.
The tumor is a localized high grade sarcoma, meaning it showed up in only one spot, however this type of tumor has a tendency to metastasize, so chemotherapy is done first prior to tumor removal.
The plan is to hit it hard with chemotherapy.  After two - 5 week cycles of chemo. she will have an operation to remove the tumor.  This will occur sometime in mid-Sept/Oct time frame. Brandi will then go through another four 5 week cycles of chemotherapy with the whole process taking about one year.

Brandi loves to have visitors (in the hospital and at home) and share stories with her friends and family. Depending on the day, or even the hour of the day, it is a good idea to check with her mom or dad to make sure she is up for a visit. Prayers and good will thoughts are always welcome and just letting her know your thinking about her is great!

Brandi's favorite color is Mint Green and she was saving up for an iPad, but her aunts and uncles chipped in and she now has one that she uses constantly!
She has done away with hair these days but has not quite adapted to any hats and thoughts of wigs do not seem appealing to her. She is fine with no hair, but when the weather gets colder we think she will certainly change her mind about the hats!

Brandi has received lots of coloring books and pencils from friends and family to draw with and is even thinking about donating some of these to others in the hospital!

Brandi's parents Cindy and Bryan are feel extremely blessed that they have great friends and family for prayers and support along with a top rate hospital only 30 miles away!
