Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

My name is Dede Fields.  I’m starting this site for my nephew, Brady Armstrong.

Brady just turned 12 on December 26, 2018.  He’s a 6th grade student at Fall Creek Internediate in Fishers, IN.  You can tell he’s been raised with older siblings, as his wit is beyond his years.  He loves bowling and football, and he’s a gifted artist like his older brother, Sean.

In the early hours of Sunday,  January 13th my sister Amy and my brother-in-law Pat were told by an ER physician that Brady likely had lymphoma.  They were told that someone from a pediatric oncologist office at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital  would contact them for an appointment on Monday morning.

Shock, fear, disbelief.....news like this was never expected, and it’s still hard to comprehend.  That first 24 hours waiting for the  oncologist appointment felt like it lasted 2 weeks.  He underwent some testing on Monday and a biopsy on Tuesday.  We are one week out, and all we know for certain is that Brady has cancer.

What type, what stage, what treatment.....these are all yet to be determined.  He faces another few days of doctors visits and testing tomorrow and Wednesday.  We hope and pray to have a plan by week’s end so the steps to get past this can begin.

We are asking for your prayers.  We appreciate all of the kind words and caring gestures that have already been shared as people have begun to hear this news.   We hope that you will understand if Amy and Pat aren’t able to reply  individual text messages or calls.  Just know they appreciate your support as this journey continues.
