BJ had moved from Montana to Florida last year and has been staying and working at a local mission. He recently had been employed with some construction jobs and working very hard on improving his life and for taking the next step in his life

Tragically, on  Saturday Sept 9th, 2017 approx. 4pm Misty & Mark received a phone call from Pensacola, Florida Baptist hospital stating BJ was taken there and is in critical, but stable condition. BJ was found by Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) after some one called in a car accident. FHP found BJ laying in the street of a residential area with severe injuries sometime around Saturday, Sept 9th, 2017 approx. 5am.  He was immediately taken into emergency surgery to address his injuries and remove a section of his skull. His life threating and life altering injuries are located to his facial area.  He sustained two broken orbital bones, a broken jaw, multiple severe skull fractures,  damage to his right ear and five broken ribs.

According to FHP, BJ was not involved in any type of vehicle accident or hit & run.  There was no indicators that there was a robbery or attempted robbery either.  It appears that this was an assault by an unknown person or persons and it is unknown how, when or why it occurred. FHP currently has open homicide case and has many leads that they are following up with. They are working very hard even though Irma is making landfall.

We know God and the courts will provide justice for those who did this unthinkable act of violence. The family wants everyone to please be patient with questions regarding the details of the incident. We do not have any answers and these types of investigations take time. Neighborhoods and witness's don't like to talk for fear of retaliation.  Please pray for BJ for comfort and strength no matter what God has planned for his outcome.
