Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  Brad Johnson and three friends (Tom, Justin, and Todd) were hiking near the Montana/Wyoming border on Sunday afternoon where Brad was attacked by a pair of grizzly bears.  Brad was injured and is receiving some treatment in the hospital, but overall is in good spirits...Thank God!

The four were on the front end of a five day hiking trip in the Beartooth wilderness and were about seven miles from their car when the attack happened.  One of the hikers on the trip (Justin) is a Fire Fighter/EMT and worked to stabilize Brad while Tom and Todd ran for help.  According to Tom, he prayed he would run into someone that could get out sooner than they could because of their fatigue.  Shortly after this, they did encounter another couple who immediately offered to go out for help and turned around and made it to the "Top of the World Store" much faster than Tom and Todd would have been able to.

They believe the attack happened at about 1:00 PM on Sunday.  The couple that helped call Search and Rescue made it to the store at about 4:30 PM and Brad was airlifted out around 6:30PM to a hospital in Billings, MT.  The helicopter did not have space for Justin so he needed to stay back and wait for search and rescue later that evening. Search & Rescue made it to Justin by about 10:00PM Sunday evening.

Praise God for His provisions along the way for Brad and his friends.  In hearing stories from the group, many miraculous things happened to assist the group during this ordeal.  May Jesus be glorified in all of this!  We are praying for Brad, his injuries, the entire Johnson family and for all the guys - their hearts and minds.
