Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. After suffering for 60 years from COPD my lungs have finally had enough. After a horrible year fighting frequent lung infections and now having to be on oxygen 24/7, I have decided that now is the time to consider a lung transplant. It is a big step to take, but I feel that this is the correct time. I am really ready for this! I am being seen by the Transplant Team at the University of Chicago. They have a great program and great success. I am now in the initial testing phase. After the doctors/team review all of my test results, I will be the be put on the Transplant List.. The typical wait time is 3 – 6 months.
