Bob went into the hospital on  April 26th with a blood infection. He was put on antibiotics which brought the infection under control, but upon further testing, doctors determined the infection had damaged his aortic valve. Bob has a bicuspid aortic valve (as opposed to a normal tricuspid valve) and an aortic aneurysm, which we have known about for several years. His doctors feel that it is best to  repair these issues now rather than send him home and risk further deterioration, so Bob will have surgery some time this week.
