Bob Spetner

For all of you who know Bob Spetner, you know how physically fit and athletic he has always been.  This helps explain why he grew concerned when he noticed that the hearing in his left ear was starting to fade.  After several inconclusive tests, the doctors recommended that Bob undergo an MRI.  The MRI revealed a slow-growing, benign tumor in Bob's neck that was pressing on his brain stem.  The tumor was about the size of a golf ball, and needed to be removed because it was beginning to intertwine with nerves that could affect swelling, hearing, balance, vision and other critical functions.

Bob underwent a five-hour surgery on Tuesday, July 18. While the doctors were successful in removing most of the tumor, Bob has had some serious challenges following the surgery.    This site will provide updates to his recovery and allow you to post comments to Bob and his family.
