Hello!  I'm Brenda, Mario's wife & Bob's favorite daughter-in-law (OK, the only one...)

On Wednesday, October 26, 2016, Bob had surgery in Mayo Hospital in Red Wing MN to remove a non-cancerous mass from his colon.  Things did not go quite as expected, and five days later, they realized his colon had been leaking into his abdomen, and took him back into emergency surgery to repair it.  The next day, Mario was visiting him, and the medical staff advised him and Barb that Bob needed to be transported out of Red Wing because he was septic and needed to be in a hospital that could handle a patient on a ventilator 24/7.  Mario arranged the transfer to the Twin Cities to bring Bob closer to most of his family.  Mario called me before my shift (I work as a critical care paramedic for Allina), and asked if we could come and give Bob a ride in our ambulance.  I was honored to be able to help Bob, and happy to have our daughter, Britta, who is in the new grad RN program at Abbott's ICU ride with us on the way up to Abbott.

Bob is still writing this story...and we welcome your prayers along the way.
