Hello everyone! Thank you for visiting Bob's Caring Bridge Site. We hope that this site will keep everyone informed of Bob's progress and alleviate messages, calls and visitors so his family can spend time on his recovery.

On September 22nd, Bob had an episode and was admitted to Lakeside Hospital. The exact cause and nature of his illness was unknown so there were several tests run over the weekend to determine what was going on. It is believed that he is suffering from viral encephalopathy and that he has an unknown virus which has caused inflammation of his brain. He is capable of seeing and hearing things around him but his motor skills have become impaired including his ability to speak. The speech pathologist spent time with him this morning to work on speech and swallowing and that visit has made an improvement as he is now able to swallow soft foods and is working on communication! He will have a long road ahead of him with rehabilitation and the family would like all of you to know how much they appreciate you keeping Bob in your thoughts and prayers!

We will keep updates posted to this site when we get them. Please feel free to leave your messages here so Denise can share them with Bob everyday! Thank you all!!
