Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

We realize that not all of you are aware of Bob's health concerns that have recently appeared.  We thought by doing this we could all have the same info.

Bob had his gall bladder out January 23rd and eventually had 3 endoscopy procedures due to some irregularities noted during surgery and afterwards.  On the last one, 2 or 3 weeks ago, they did an ultrasound endoscopy and took some biopsies around a "worrisome shadow" on the ultra sound.  It has turned out to be a tumor (cancer) at the head of the pancreas.  We had a discussion with the surgeon..the Whipple is best procedure for dealing with this assuming all is "in place"...but before surgery he  needed a PET scan (done  to view it further) and an ECHO to check the heart.

We have a tentative surgery date of  May 12th.  However, the PET scan (done Monday) showed a spot on the spine that needs to be further biopsied before proceeding with the surgery.

We just got the biopsy scheduled for this coming Monday.  We will await that information which will tell us what will happen next.

Bob feels and looks fine..and we are just holding our breath and trekking through.
