Robert Mann Bob Mann-We'll Fight This

Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.
Dad was not sure he liked the idea of this site....he is very private, or least stubborn and doesn't want to be taken care of.  He can't believe it took this long for anything to happen.  He's had an eye surgery, and achilles tendon surgery when he lived in Colorado, but nothing major.  We have been so blessed.  He turned 69 while recovering from his tonsil biopsy.  He continues to be active.  His Dr. says his body is very healthy, people ask if he is retired..."yeah right, I will work until I can't work anymore."  He works for others and his family and loves his job.  We, as a family, are very proud of the strides he has made with Mayflower, it is fun to see all of his new or renovated buildings/rooms.  He will try to keep attending Drake girls basketball games, his grandkid's activities, babysit, and of course work, as he feels he can.
Dad doesn't like to be the center of attention or having that many people dotting on him.  But he has been keeping every card he receives.
He has coined it "Damn Cancer".  Throat cancer will be a tough recovery but the Dr.'s say "we got this thing, we will zap that cancer!"  He will be in great care at John Stoddard in Des Moines.
