Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Bob has been going through a Lung Cancer Screening Program the last several months.  A low dose CT scan is performed since he was a former smoker.  Several months ago, the results showed a couple spots on his lung and one on his kidney.  He had an ultrasound on the kidney and it appears to be a cyst.  They followed up with another CT scan on the lungs.  The two spots had not changed, but a new one appeared and was different than the original spots.  He was on antibiotics in case it was an infection such as pneumonia. Another CT Scan showed it was still there.  Bob went for a PET scan and the spot "lit up".  His doctor recommended surgery to find out if it is benign or malignant.   Bob will be having surgery Monday July 30 at Mayo Health in Eau Claire.   The surgeon will remove a wedge of the lung to have it tested.  If benign no further treatment will be needed.  If malignant, they will remove the lobe of the lung.  He will be hospitalized for about a week then go home for recovery.    I will use this site to keep all posted on developments.  Please keep Bob in your prayers during the next several weeks.
