Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated about Bob all in one place!  Family and friends, thank you so much for your love and prayers as we navigate this unexpected "adventure."  Bob was recently diagnosed with a locally advanced cancer of the tongue, apparently caused by the life-saving radiation treatment he underwent 20 years ago when he had another cancer. He is enrolled in a clinical trial at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston that involves radical surgery and immunotherapy.  On February 11th, he had a day long surgery to replace his tongue.  At Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, his surgical team successfully fashioned and transplanted a new tongue using tissue from Bob's left thigh.  He will recover at B-W for a week or more, and once healed will have more immunotherapy treatments.  By autumn, we hope to be out hiking and take a trip to the Utah National Parks!  Your prayers and good thoughts are so very welcome, and we love to hear your news too! Love, peace and joy to you all. We are going for the healing!  God bless you all.
