As most of you are aware I was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  Yesterday we met with the pancreatic surgeon and others at Moffitt Cancer Center  and have a much better understandng of my pancreatic cancer and what to expect.  Moffitt is an amazing facility with outstanding  doctors, nurses and all the others we met with. 


The surgeon fully explained the expected plan which will  include three months of Chemo therapy followed by 5 days of radiation in an effort to shrink the tumor that has grown around the head of the pancreas and wrapped around a vein, followed by surgery to remove the tumor and head of the pancreas. 


I have two additional doctor consults, next week with the Medical Oncologist and the Radiation Oncologist to confirm the type of chemo and radiation and the schedules. 


 Linda and I can not tell you how much we appreciate the calls and texts of support and all the prayers we  have received. I have faith that this is in God's hands and we will get through this and be cured of this cancer.  I also hope that this helps some folks make that call to the doctor to get a checkup or discuss that issue or concern that they have but have put off calling the doctor.


I do need to let my friends know we have tremendous support from our family and particularly our children, Chris, Eric, Matt and Jenny. At least one of our children were there for every doctor appointment or procedure to support  Linda and I, and they have kept each other informed and involved.  I am asking that my condition is not discussed on Facebook as we are currently not informing my mother so she does not need to worry about this.
