It was suggested to me that I might try to keep people updated on Bob's progress through this means. Bob was diagnosed two and ½ years ago with papillary thyroid cancer. It was a very easy treatment with radioactive iodine. Since then he has been doing quite well, so you can imagine our surprise when our Dr. in Tucson found a spread this spring that required immediate surgery. Pathology was done and Bob was diagnosed with a very rare cancer. We decided to come back home as the best treatment centers are Mayo in Rochester, or a center in Houston or in Boston. After seeing the doctors at Mayo, we have decided the best route would be treatment there. Bob will begin treatment this week, June 4th. We will be living up at Mayo during the week, hopefully coming home on weekends if Bob feels up to the trips. I want to thank all of my wonderful supporters.
