Welcome to our Caring Bridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  My beloved husband Bob of nearly 48 years  was admitted to St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville, Ohio on Thursday Oct. 12,2017 with extremely low blood pressure and dehydration.  He was very pale. Blood study showed Hemoglobin of only 6.8, so blood transfusions were given.   He received at least 5 liters of fluids and 4-5 units of blood.  Hemoglobin was coming up, but then his heart stopped about 11:25 pm that night.   He was resuscitated and put on a ventilator with a tube through his mouth.   Gastro-intestinal bleeding was suspected.  An endoscopy was done on Friday to find the cause of the bleeding.  There was one ulcerin his stomach & one in duodenum (first part of small intestine- for those of you who are not medical people).  The bleeding had stopped and the ulcers were treated with cautery, epinephrine & a "clip."  He has been in a drug induced coma since Thursday after he was resuscitated.
